Gutter check up

What to look for from the ground

• Is water overflowing your gutters?

• Are there water droplets on the bottom of your gutters?

• Is there water flowing out of your downspout?

If you’re brave enough to climb a ladder, look for

• Breaks or cracks in the gutters – can be temporarily sealed or replaced

• Pine needles, leaves, debris filling your gutters

• Is the top of the downspout clear?

How to prevent gutter build up

• Gutter guards  - note these really only work for areas that do not get plugged by much debris

• Yard clean up - if possible, prune branches which tend to fill up your gutters with leaves
